Best Fed Greeks Logo
Best Fed Greeks serves up the freshest food on campus to fraternity and sorority houses around the Midwest. As the brand continues to expand, they needed an update that reflects their ethos of confident professionalism while still expressing the fun and relatable quality of the owner and chefs. We took a cue from the name by creating a logo that incorporates dining with Panhellenic symbols like the column and laurels.

Mainline Signs Website
Once we designed a new logo for Mainline Signs, they were ready for their own slice of the internet. We designed and produced mainlinesigns.com to showcase their distinct signage work, with case studies detailing more extensive projects. Custom iconography was created to exemplify each category of available signage with galleries showing off example of these products. Through the site customers can access Mainline Signs’ online store or request a custom quote for their project.

BatonSync Mailer
BatonSync is an easy, efficient, comprehensive online application that makes the non-music parts of being a music educator a breeze. Tallgrass Studios created and produced a Direct Mail Postcard targeting band, choir, and orchestra directors as an introduction to the cloud-based music management application. We focused on potential subscribers in Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma middle schools, high schools, and colleges/universities.

J. Reed Advisors Real Estate Development Consulting
Wordmark and website design for J. Reed Advisors, a real estate development consulting firm. You can see the award-winning work of owner John Foudray across the country, from Arizona, to Pennsylvania, to right here in nearby Kansas City at the downtown public library. We made sure that work could speak for itself with a clean website layout that lets it shine. The wordmark is modern and architectural, with something a little unexpected.
Visit jreedadvisors.com to see it in full.

Walnut Ranch Sleep Dentistry
Joe Treanor specializes in the evolving field of dentistry for sleep disorders. These treatments are relatively unknown compared to others, so we primarily sought to inform the reader with clear and easy to read content.
The website features a sleep health test, information about the causes of sleep apnea, and treatment options. A professional palette, relatable photography, and easy to read typography allow site visitors to identify whether or not they need treatment and easily contact the office to set up a visit.

Avitar Chemical
Avitar is a redistributor of unused chemicals and raw materials. Their resourcefulness and desire to minimize waste is both commendable and inspiring. For this logo redesign and website build we drew inspiration from molecular geometry and the chemical structure of Avitar’s products.

Judaism, Zionism, and the Land of Israel
A book cover for Rabbi Yotav Eliach. The cover outlines the land of Israel with an inset image of people praying at the western wall.
“With passion, clarity, eloquence and most of all love, Yotav Eliach lays out the story of Zionism and the case for Israel. At a time when that story is under systematic attack, Rabbi Eliach has given the Jewish people an indispensable gift.” Yossi Klein Halevi, author of We Were Like Dreamers

Opening Reception – Final Friday
September 27, 2019 5:30 – 9:00 pm
at Tallgrass Studios
Show runs September 27 – October 18, 2019
A Lawrence native, Margie Kuhn received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Kansas. A full-time artist, she works daily in her home studio with the assistance of two Cornish Rex cats.
Margie has based this installation of drawings on the extensive studies of ideal human proportions produced by Albrecht Dürer from 1512 to 1528. She examines how those ideals translate through history and how our society represents icons, idols, and ideals in contemporary material culture. Focusing solely on drawings, Margie looks at the role of drawings as fine art, as well as being a record of the thinking process.

Reflections at City Center in Lenexa
We love working with Vantage Point Properties because they understand and enjoy the creative process. They develop exceptional commercial real estate environments that are amazing to look at, fun to work in and impressive to visit. Reflections at City Center is more than a typical office park and we took our inspiration for this identity from the large reflecting pools that anchor the development and create a walkable campus that includes three restaurants, modern landscape design, and patios. The logo design captures the spirit of this architectural project by incorporating elements of reflections on water and glass, transparency, a blending of the outdoor and the indoor, and modern design.

ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS
Photography and Digital Painting by Robbin Loomas
Opening Reception – Final Friday
April 26, 2019 5:30 – 9:00 pm
Music by Folk in the Flow
at Tallgrass Studios
Show runs April 26 – May 24, 2019
“My work is a blending of photography and painting. I paint with a computer. Digital painting is an emerging art form where traditional painting techniques and styles are applied using a computer as a tube of paint and a digital tablet and stylus for a paint brush. Each brush stoke is applied individually, by hand. I consider the camera my sketchbook. When I look through the lens I see the beginning of a work of art. It is the bones on which to build.”
Robbin Loomas, an award winning photographer and digital artist, received her BFA in photography from the Kansas City Art Institute. Working as a freelance photographer in Kansas City, then as head of photography for University Relations at KU, she now has her own studio, in Lawrence, Kansas. Robbin creates paintings from her photography, and does commissioned work from the images of others. She teaches this technique and painting style at the Lawrence Arts Center, Baker University and to professionals throughout the Midwest. You can view her work online at www.robbinloomas.com.
